Juma Ahmadi

Juma Ahmadi, 46, has been jailed for 25 years for the rape and sexual assault of a woman and a teenage girl. He also received an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.

Ahmadi, of Whitmore Street, Birmingham, was sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court last week. He was found guilty after a trial.

Case Details

In July last year, a teenage girl confided in a hospital doctor about sexual abuse. The doctor then called 999 and safeguarded the girl.

West Midlands Police attended and spoke with her. She told officers that Ahmadi had wanted to give her money to buy things. She stated he sexually assaulted and raped her over a three-year period.

Ahmadi was then arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and rape. The girl bravely attended a police station the following day to complete a video interview.

During this time, a woman in her 40s also came forward to officers. She disclosed that Ahmadi had raped her a number of times.

Ahmadi was charged with nine counts of rape and sexual assault.

Police Statement

Detective Constable Charlie Smith, Child Public Protection Unit, said: “Ahmadi is a dangerous man who will now spend a long time behind bars. We hope this sends a clear message that people who behave in this appalling way will be caught and will spend many years in prison.

“I would like to praise the courage of the woman and teenager who came forward to tell us what he had done. He put them both through a trial rather than admitting his actions.”
