Motorcyclist Dies in A417 Maisemore Collision, Police Appeal

A motorcyclist has died following a fatal collision on the A417 near Maisemore yesterday afternoon, Thursday 16 April. Gloucestershire Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.

Emergency services were called at around 3.50pm. The report concerned a collision involving a motorbike and a Ford Transit van. This occurred on the A417 near Overton Farm.

The motorcyclist, a man from Gloucester, sustained serious injuries. Despite efforts from members of the public and paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

The driver of the van was assessed by paramedics. They did not sustain any serious injuries. Road closures put into place have since been lifted.

Witness Appeal

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision. They also seek those travelling in the area at the time. Dashcam footage showing the vehicles prior to the collision is also requested.
