Man Dies After Chorley Collision, Police Appeal for Witnesses

A man in his 70s has died following a serious collision in Chorley. Police are appealing for witnesses and footage after the incident on Lyons Lane.

Officers were called to Lyons Lane at 12.20pm on 20th March. A BMW 320d had collided with a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital with a head injury where he has since sadly died.

Police stated: "Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time." The driver of the BMW has not been arrested and is being treated as a witness.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Sgt Laura Kendall, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, issued a statement regarding the ongoing enquiries.

Sgt Kendall said: “As a result of this collision a man has lost his life and my thoughts are very much with his loved ones at this distressing time. A number of enquiries have been carried out since the initial collision, however work is still ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to it. As such, I would ask any witnesses, or anybody who has dashcam or CCTV footage which would assist us with our enquiries, to contact the police as soon as possible.”
