Fatal Collision: Man Dies in Hatfield; Police Launch Witness Appeal

Hertfordshire Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and dash cam footage following a fatal road traffic collision in Hatfield yesterday, Wednesday 1 April. Officers were called at 3.12pm to reports of a serious incident on South Way where a man died at the scene.

Incident Details

Emergency services, including the ambulance and fire service, attended the scene. Road closures were put in place. A white Yamaha motorbike and a black Lexus were involved at the junction with Bishops Rise. The motorbike rider, a man aged in his 30s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. A 50-year-old man from Pinner was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody for questioning.

Police Appeal

Detective Constable Neil Crosier, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Firstly, our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this very sad time. We are appealing for witnesses as we continue to establish the full circumstances of the collision. If you have any information or dash cam footage, please report it. I can be emailed directly with any details.”
