Great Barr man Adam Khan jailed for nine years for child sex offences

West Midlands Police have confirmed that a 30-year-old man has been jailed for more than nine years after attempting to arrange the sexual abuse of a child.

Adam Khan, from Great Barr, appeared at Birmingham Crown Court last Wednesday (18 March 2026), where he was sentenced to nine years and six months in prison. Khan previously pleaded guilty to arranging or facilitating the rape of a child under the age of 13 and the distribution of indecent images.

Investigation and Arrest

The investigation was led by the Force Priorities Team, who discovered that Khan had been interacting with individuals online to find a child he could sexually assault. Officers established that he was planning to meet with someone he believed could facilitate these attacks.

Police intercepted the meeting in Great Barr in July 2025 and arrested Khan at the scene.

Digital Evidence

Following his arrest, officers seized digital devices belonging to Khan. A forensic examination uncovered nearly 1,000 indecent images and videos of children. Investigators also found evidence that Khan had been distributing indecent images of children between June and July 2025.

Police Statement

Detective Sergeant Nick McCullogh, from the Force Priorities Team, said:

"Khan was intent on meeting a child who he could sexually abuse. We were able to stop his disgusting plan, and uncover the full extent of his offending, to ensure he has been sent to jail for many years."

The conviction forms part of ongoing efforts by West Midlands Police to tackle online child exploitation and prevent contact offences.
