Wife's trust shattered as husband's ex-lover remains in his life

The husband argues that he never technically lied because he disclosed the affair itself, but the wife maintains that withholding her identity was a material omission that robbed her of informed consent.

The professional overlap

The situation is further complicated by the fact that the two remain at the same firm and continue to interact professionally, with the woman frequently travelling for work meetings.

The wife, who is now on antidepressants and struggling with "trapped" rumination, questions whether healing is realistically possible while the other person remains in her husband's professional world.

Therapists often suggest that recovery from infidelity requires a "zero contact" policy, a feat that is nearly impossible when the affair partner is a long-term colleague.

The story has divided the online community, with some blaming the husband for "lying by omission" to ensure the marriage went ahead.
