Husband reveals how close friend exploited his insecurities to betray him
A devastated husband has revealed how his close friend of four years weaponised his private insecurities to orchestrate an affair with his wife.

The man, who shared his story on r/offmychest, explained that he often vented to his friend, referred to as "Bob," about his struggles with physical affection in his marriage.
He believed he was seeking advice from a trusted confidant, but later discovered that Bob was using those details to promise his wife "all the things I lacked."
The betrayal came to light after the wife confessed that the pair had been FaceTiming daily and that Bob had declared his feelings while the husband was out of the room.
The struggle to move forward
Despite the "mutual" feelings between the wife and the friend, the husband chose to stay in the marriage, though he admitted to feeling "like a fool" seven months later.
He noted that while their relationship is now "closer than ever," he still harbours a deep anger regarding the deception that took place while he was even deployed.
"When she told me I broke. I mean BROKE," the man stated, reflecting on the moment his trust in both his wife and his best friend was shattered.
