Incident Details

Miah denied the charge but was found guilty on Wednesday 14 January. The court heard details of the incident.

On Sunday 6 July 2025, the victim was involved in an altercation with Miah inside an address on Stansted Road. During the incident, Miah approached the victim with a large kitchen knife. He stabbed the victim multiple times in the chest.

Another man who was in the property assisted the victim. He took the victim to hospital, where he was treated for life-threatening injuries. Officers located and arrested Miah on 7 July 2025 at a property in East London.

Police Statement

Detective Sergeant Mike Doe from East CID commented on the case.

"This was a horrific and violent attack on the victim, which would have been deeply distressing and frightening for him. I would like to thank him for his co‑operation throughout the investigation, and I hope that he can now begin to move forward knowing that the offender has been brought to justice. I also want to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of my detectives, who worked closely with specialist units from across the Constabulary, including the Operational Support Group, to locate and arrest Miah and to progress this case through the criminal justice system. This outcome reinforces our zero‑tolerance approach to offences of this nature, and our determination to do everything possible to secure justice for victims."
