The "Breaking Bad" Inspiration Behind Leo Woodall’s Secret Tattoo

Rising star Leo Woodall has debunked theories regarding the sentimental nature of his character's ink in The White Lotus, revealing that the name "Wendy" was actually inspired by another famous television drama.

Appearing on The Graham Norton Show, the actor clarified that the tattoo was a creative choice he made for his character’s backstory after watching Breaking Bad.

"I just thought how this kid would have some memory of a woman called Wendy and he'd just get it tattooed on his bum," Woodall explained to host Graham Norton.

The actor noted that the production allowed him to develop his own history for his character, Jack, and he felt this specific detail added a layer of gritty realism to the role.

The Tattoo That Never Made the Edit

Despite the personal effort put into the character detail, Woodall revealed that "Wendy" never actually appeared on screen. The fake tattoo was placed on his "left butt cheek," and although there were several scenes involving the actor's backside, he jokingly lamented that he couldn't quite "shift Wendy into the shot."

The discussion prompted a humorous exchange with the guests, as Woodall joked that the character of Wendy "got him through" the production.

When Norton suggested that most women might not find a name tattooed on a butt cheek to be a compliment, Woodall quipped, "You haven't met Wendy," before giving a shout-out to "all the Wendys out there." The anecdote highlights the playful behind-the-scenes creativity involved in the making of the hit HBO series.
