Family Tribute to Lee Abbott After Fatal Manningtree Crash

The family of Lee Abbott, 48, has paid tribute after he died following a collision in Manningtree. Mr Abbott was fatally injured in an incident involving a motorcycle and a car on Wednesday 8 April.

Essex Police were called to Clacton Road, Manningtree, at about 3.45pm. The road was closed for several hours. Emergency services worked at the scene.

Sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics at the scene, the motorcyclist died. Essex Police can now name him as Ipswich-born Lee Abbott, 48, from East Bergholt.

Family Tribute

Lee’s parents, Jeff and Carol, explained his life. "He was a much-loved son, partner, brother, uncle and cousin and he lived life to the full.Lee always bought the present you didn't know you needed. He was always thoughtful and kind to everyoneHe will be truly missed by all that knew him."

Lee was a keen motorcyclist since his young years. He first bought a track bike to ride off-road.

A second person was involved in the collision. This person was the pillion passenger on the motorcycle. They were taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
