
A 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder and carrying a bladed article. The charges follow an incident in Woodthorpe, Nottinghamshire.
The incident occurred on Friday 17 April just before 4pm. It took place near Wensley Road. A 13-year-old female victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Her condition is currently described as stable.
The 14-year-old suspect cannot be named for legal reasons. He will appear before Nottingham Youth Court today.
Superintendent James Woolley, who manages county policing, stated: "Officers are supporting the victim and her family through this traumatic incident. We understand the impact an incident like this will have on the local community. I would like to reassure the public we are doing everything we can to understand the circumstances that has led to this attack. We have arrested and charged a 14-year-old boy with attempted murder."
