Hristo Iliev charged with causing death of 20-month-old Finley Baker

A 32-year-old man has been charged in connection with a fatal road traffic collision that resulted in the death of a 20-month-old boy.

Hristo Iliev, of Hide Close, Boston, faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The charges follow an extensive investigation by Lincolnshire Police into a three-vehicle collision on the A17 approaching the Holdingham roundabout in Sleaford.

Fatal Collision on the A17

The incident occurred on Wednesday 19 March 2025. The collision tragically led to the death of Finley Baker, who was 20 months old at the time.

In addition to the fatality, a driver in one of the other vehicles involved sustained serious injuries during the crash.

Court Proceedings

Following the investigation, Mr Iliev has been charged to court. He is scheduled to make his first appearance at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on 23 April 2026.

Police have not released further details regarding the specific circumstances of the collision as the case moves toward legal proceedings.
