WHO: Camden Council, local businesses, and residents facing barriers to work.

WHAT: Achievement of the "Camden 100 in 100 – Pave the Way" campaign target.

WHERE: Across the London Borough of Camden.

WHEN: 100-day goal reached on 11 February 2026.

WHY: To create inclusive roles for care leavers, refugees, and residents with disabilities.

Residents facing barriers to work will benefit from a more inclusive local economy following the successful creation of 100 accessible employment opportunities in just 100 days.

Camden Council has achieved a landmark milestone in its mission to build a fairer borough. The "Camden 100 in 100 – Pave the Way" campaign has successfully secured one hundred pledges for inclusive roles from local employers in just one hundred days.

Breaking barriers through accessible employment opportunities

The campaign focuses on residents who face the greatest challenges when seeking good work. This group includes care leavers, refugees, and those with disabilities. Traditional recruitment processes often fail to meet their needs. By co-designing ringfenced roles, the Council and its partners are ensuring that these residents are no longer shut out of the workforce.

Major local institutions have stepped up to support the initiative. Pledges have come from world-renowned organisations including The British Museum, UCL, and The Francis Crick Institute. These roles include apprenticeships, internships, and paid positions that will be fulfilled over the next year.

Councillor Sabrina Francis, Cabinet Member for Jobs, Culture and Young People, said: “Achieving one hundred pledges in one hundred days shows the commitment of our fantastic and varied local businesses, each playing their part in building a fairer, more inclusive workforce.”

Celebrating success and accessible employment opportunities

The achievement coincided with the Camden Future Talent Awards 2026. This annual event celebrates the hard work of apprentices and the managers who support them. Firoz Khan, an Integrated Enforcement Officer Apprentice, was named Apprentice of the Year. His success highlights the tangible impact that accessible pathways can have on local lives.

How inclusive businesses create accessible employment opportunities

The list of participating businesses continues to grow. Key partners include:

Mace Dragados and HS2

Derwent London Plc

Kimpton Fitzroy

Shaftesbury Theatre

KX Recruit

How to get involved

Camden remains dedicated to ensuring that a resident's background never limits their career potential. Residents interested in exploring work experience, internships, or apprenticeships can find more information through the Camden Future Talent Service. Employers looking to make a pledge can still join the movement to support long-term stability and independence for all residents.
